What is the difference between T1 and T2 SPDs?

T1 (Type 1) protectors are designed to handle direct lightning strikes (10/350 μs waveform), usually installed at the main entrance. T2 (Type 2) protectors, like our 40kA series, are designed for indirect lightning and switching surges (8/20 μs waveform), installed in sub-distribution boards.

Why do DC systems need specialized protection?

DC arcs are more difficult to extinguish than AC arcs because they do not have a zero-crossing point. Our DC SPDs are specifically engineered with specialized extinguishing chambers to safely interrupt high-voltage DC surges without risking fire.

How often should a voltage protector be replaced?
